Northstar Family Support Project works with families in the Limerick region in a respectful manner to deal with the impact of substance misuse. They came to us looking for an animation that would communicate their core values and their mission. I worked on this project with three other students on my course, Shannon, Kayleigh and Eoin.

We came up with the idea to tell the story of a sailor lost at sea, who then uses the Northstar as a navigational tool to reach safety.
This was the first very rough storyboard I sketched out for our idea. Kayleigh was then assigned the role of storyboard artist and she developed all of our storyboard ideas further to create the final one.

My main role while working on this project was to create the wave assets and animate them before sending them to Kayleigh who added in other elements Shannon had worked on such as our character and the boat, as well as Eoin's backgrounds. Below are pngs of the scenes I created in Photoshop which I then brought into After Effects to animate.

As well as this, I had my first shot at voice acting as I narrated the piece.
