@Maddyslife is a short horror animation that portrays the haunting of a young woman who’s phone becomes possessed by a malevolent spirit.
We live in an age where the ever increasing reliance on technological devices is a part of our everyday lives. We can no longer do without our mobile phones, laptops or a connection to social media. Our phones have become an extension of ourselves and a platform for us to broadcast our lives for strangers to see. Our lives are documented on our social media profiles which will remain after we have passed on, creating an ever-growing digital graveyard.
This short adopts a gloomy aesthetic that is created using a painterly style and a dull muted colour palette. Sound and lighting plays an important role in building tension and in creating a suffocating atmosphere.
